Governor-General issues statement on the Virginia Tech Shootings

Our Dominion is shocked and saddened by the news of the shootings at Virginia Tech Yesterday. Schools should be places of safety and sanctuary and learning. When that sanctuary is violated, the impact is felt in every classroom and every community in every nation.

We hold the victims up in our prayers, and we ask a loving God to comfort those who are suffering today.

I ask that every West Floridian join me in a moment of prayer for the survivors or silent contemplation today at noon, and again at 8:30 tomorrow morning.

Our hearts go out to the family, loved ones, friends, and associates of the 33 killed, and the many others injured, by this act of violence. We can not know the depth of your pain, but we can offer our love, support, and a shoulder.
